Tyler Jean Dukes

Biography

Tyler Jean Dukes is a doctoral candidate in the English Department and a Visiting Lecturer in Women and Gender Studies at TCU. She specializes in early British literature, gender, disability, and the medical humanities. She is also a childbirth doula, a role that informs her scholarly and pedagogical pursuits as she investigates the connections between storytelling and healing. Her latest publication, “Teaching Literature During a Pandemic-Induced Empathy Deficit: A Narrative Medicine Approach to Pedagogy,” appeared in Pedagogy’s 2023 spring issue.
