Research Description
I am a Galactic Archeologist; I use stars to study the chemical and dynamical history of the Milky Way. Specifically, I derive chemical
abundances for stars in open and globular clusters to better understand the past and
present distribution of these elements and how this distribution may have changed
throughout the Milky Way's history. While previously I utilized data from the Sloan
Digital Sky Survey's infrared APOGEE spectrograph to get abundances, I have more recently
had the amazing opportunity to travel to observatories (including Keck, Las Companas,
McDonald and Lick Observatory) and collect the data myself. I hope to derive neutron
capture abundances for these stars to further explore the chemical enrichment history
of the Milky Way.
