Muhammad Ayiaz (preferred name: Ayiaz) joins us this year as a Ph.D. student. Ayiaz spent his childhood in Kotli, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, where he developed a passion for becoming a mathematics professor. He received his early education in Kotli and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Azad Kashmir, where he received a Gold Medal as the top student for the M.Sc. degree in Mathematics. He then pursued a M.Phil. degree at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, where again he received top ranking and did research on Sobolev metric spaces. Ayiaz really enjoys teaching mathematics and has been involved in teaching since his college days. He has a strong interest in pure mathematics and is currently focused on learning Functional Analysis, Differential Equations, and Number Theory. In his free time, Ayiaz enjoys playing badminton, cooking, and working out at the gym.
