Dr. Kristen Brown began a post-doctoral fellow position in the Andrews Institute for Research in Mathematics and Science Education with Dr. Molly Weinburgh in August 2024. Her dissertation focused on science teacher perspectives on PD. Her research interests include science teachers’ experiences with PD, comparing high school and college science curricula, and collaborative relationships between universities and public school districts.
 
Dr. Brown graduated with her Ph.D. in science education in May 2024. She graduated from TCU with a B.A. in biology and a M.A. in environmental science. She has an M.Ed. in educational administration from Texas Woman’s University. She spent ten years in Texas public school districts as a science teacher, assistant principal, and curriculum director. She also was a field supervisor and instructor for Tarleton State University and TCU for five years.
