Captain John Torres was born in Brownsville, TX and is a graduate the University of Texas at Brownsville. In 2012, he received a B.S in Health and Human performance. CPT Torres commenced his military career in 2010 as an SMP cadet. He commissioned as a 2LT on June 18,2012. CPT Torres earned his MBA from Webster University in 2020. CPT Torres is married to Kelly Torres. He has two sons John Dallas and Damian.
CPT Torres commissioned as a Military Police Officer, graduating from MP Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Leonard Wood in 2012. He was assigned to the 236th MP CO (ARNG) in San Antonio, TX and served as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer. In November 2016, he deployed with the 136th MEB to Camp Buehring, Kuwait and served as the Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism Officer. In September 2017, CPT Torres served as the Brigade Adjutant and Operations Officer for the 7th Transportation BDE (Expeditionary) located in Fort Eustis, Virginia. He was also assigned to the 221st Military Police Detachment and served as the Executive Officer. He returned to Fort Leonard Wood for the Military Police Captains Career Course. In 2020, CPT Torres took command of the Fort Worth Recruiting Company. After command CPT Torres served as the Assistant Professor of Military Science at Illinois State University and was the principle advisor to MSII Cadets. CPT Torres joined the TCU Army ROTC team in May of 2023 and is the principle advisor to MSIII cadets and serves as the Operations Officer.
His Military Education includes: Military Police Captain’s Career Course, U.S Army Civilian Police Academy, Airborne, Anti-Terrorism Officer Course, Special Reaction Team Training, Air Assault, and Military Police Basic Course.
