Sergeant First Class Jesus Santana was born in Tlanepantla, Mexico and raised in Southern California. After graduating High School, he enlisted in the U. S. Army in 2004. He went to Basic Combat Training in Fort Benning (Moore), Georgia, home of the Infantry and earned the title of Infantryman. SFC Santana has served in many positions in his time with line companies, to include: rifleman, anti-armor specialist, designated marksman, Bradley commander, machine gunner, and platoon sergeant. He has served with B Co, 1-9 Infantry, South Korea; B Co, 1-8 Cavalry, Fort Cavazos, Texas; F Troop, 2-11 ACR; B Co, 2-34 Armor; Drill Sergeant at B Co, 795 MP BN, Fort Leonard Wood; and F Troop, 2/3 CR, Fort Cavazos, Texas. SFC Santana has deployed overseas to Iraq on three different occasions. His first tour was in 2006-2008 in Baghdad, Iraq. His second tour was from 2009-2010 in Northern Iraq, and his third tour was in 2015-2016 in Northern Iraq, where he trained the Iraqi Army in the fight against ISIS. SFC Santana enjoys working out, combat sports, relaxing days at the range and always up for a good BBQ. He joined the TCU Army ROTC team in August 2023 as a Military Science Instructor.
