My area of focus is the American Gulf South.

Description of Research

I examine filibusters in the Gulf South (the modern states of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas) from the 1760s to the 1820s. Specifically, I look at the Kemper Brothers- Reuben, Samuel, and Nathan.

My dissertation revolves around the 1804 Kemper Revolt, the West Florida Rebellion and Republic, and the Magee Gutierrez Expedition.
