Hanna Sanders

Biography

Hanna is a first year PhD student at TCU. She completed her BA in English (Writing) at East Texas Baptist University and her MA in English at TCU in May 2023. Her areas of interest include the intersections of environmental and social justice as they pertain to government action, rural rhetoric and pedagogy, and how nature affects the writing process.  
 
At ETBU, Hanna worked as a writing tutor for the English department. Her experiences at TCU include serving as a TA for a variety of courses (her favorite being a course investigating the rhetoric of writing style) and an RA for wonderful faculty members. Hanna’s thesis work surrounding the American Dust Bowl of the 1930s influenced her decision to pursue the field of rural rhetoric and justice.  
 
Outside of school, Hanna enjoys spending time with her husband, figuring out which of her two cats got the brain cell on any given day, and rewatching comfort sitcoms.
