Caylie Jordan is a first-year English Master’s student interested in twentieth-century American literature. Specifically, she wants to examine medical treatment in World War I narratives, and what these narratives can reveal about how people understood the soldier.
Before entering the Master’s program, Caylie began her undergraduate studies at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, eventually transferring to TCU in her sophomore year. She earned her Bachelor’s degree, double majoring in English and Psychology. With psychology, Caylie plans to examine the ethical implications behind medical treatment, and how these apply to WWI’s traumatic impact on the soldier’s body and mind.
Aside from her research interests, Caylie also spends a majority of her free time writing. If she is not developing her own characters, she can be found re-watching Marvel films for the millionth time or ranting about Star Wars. Other than loving stories, Caylie also enjoys travelling abroad with family, attending pop concerts, and singing along to any musical.
