Benjamin Reader joins us this year as a new Ph.D. student. He grew up in Manhattan Kansas. He writes that he “is the second of eight siblings and is the only true introvert of his family.” He was homeschooled K-12, during which he ran a lawn mowing business with his brothers and competed in speech, debate, football, cross country, and track. Benjamin then attended College of the Ozarks near Branson, Missouri, where he received a B.S. in a double major of Mathematics and Chemistry. He wrote a thesis on the Riemann zeta function and its Euler product formula. During college he worked as a tutor and teaching assistant for Algebra through Calculus as well as university physics courses. Benjamin is eager to learn more about analytical number theory as he studies for his Ph.D. degree. For fun, Benjamin enjoys watching movies, eating burgers, working out, and bowling.
