Shelby Oubre

Biography

I am currently a first year Literature PhD student. Prior to Texas Christian University, I completed by BA and MA at Texas Tech University in Literature with a minor in Linguistics. My research centers around nationhood and global Early Modern studies. Particularly, I am interested in the representation of contact zones between race, religion, and gender within English travel writings and literature. My current projects concern travel writings regarding India and their cultural and literary implications for English nationality.
