TCU officially unveiled its new strategic plan, LEAD ON: Values in Action, marking a significant milestone in TCU’s commitment to shaping its future over the next decade.

“What I love about this plan is that it is right for our students, and it will strengthen the value of a TCU degree,” President Daniel W. Pullin said in his opening welcome to more than 500 faculty and staff members who gathered Jan. 28 at the Legends Club in Amon G. Carter Stadium. “This transformative strategic plan, inclusive of input from over 10,000 campus stakeholders, builds on TCU’s current momentum and strength to open new doors for the Horned Frog community.”

Named to reflect the University’s dedication to its core values of Integrity, Community, Engagement and Excellence, the LEAD ON: Values in Action strategic plan includes four foundational pillars that work together to support TCU’s mission and vision.

Chief University Strategy & Innovation Officer Tom Wavering provided an overview of implementation efforts over the next 24 months, outlining the actionable steps that will bring the strategic plan to life. Campus leaders elaborated on the significance of each pillar and forthcoming implementation plans and milestones:

Pillar 1: Student-Centered Growth: Led by Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Kathy Cavins-Tull and Vice Provost for Enrollment Management Heath Einstein, this pillar emphasizes prioritizing academic and personal success for every Horned Frog.

Pillar 2: Research, Scholarship & Creative Activities: Spearheaded by Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Floyd Wormley and Vice Provost Susan Weeks, this initiative aims to elevate TCU’s contributions to global knowledge and position TCU as a leader in the arts and sciences.

Pillar 3: Athletics: Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Buddie and Senior Deputy Athletic Director Ryan Peck discussed fostering pride, excellence and student-athlete development within TCU’s athletic programs.

Pillar 4: Community Engagement: Led by Chief University Strategy & Innovation Officer Tom Wavering, this pillar focuses on deepening ties with the local Fort Worth community and beyond to create new opportunities for student success.

Following the introductions, attendees engaged in breakout sessions corresponding to each pillar, sparking dynamic conversations and sharing actionable ideas.

As the event concluded, Pullin encouraged all faculty and staff to “Lead On” in their respective roles. He urged the TCU community to get involved, be active participants and ask questions, emphasizing that the strategic plan is a collective endeavor.

“The strategic plan is a living document, allowing TCU to adapt to emerging opportunities while staying aligned to our mission and values,” Pullin said. “LEAD ON: Values in Action harnesses the energy created around our work by our outstanding students, dedicated faculty and staff, passionate alumni and the community, and will lead us to a sustainable future.”
