Each year, the TCU Board of Trustees votes on granting tenure, promotions and emeritus status to outstanding faculty members. During the 2025 spring meeting, and per the process outlined in the Handbook for Faculty and Staff, the Board approved tenure and promotion for 67 faculty members and 19 emeritus candidates.

“Tenure is a multifaceted process that may take decades for professors to achieve,” Floyd L. Wormley Jr., provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs, said. “Requirements include teaching, procuring grants, performing and publishing research, presenting at conferences, advising undergraduate students and serving on committees. I applaud these deserving faculty for their dedication to TCU, their students and their fields of expertise.”
