Make your list and check it twice. Dec. 15 is the target deadline this year for mailing packages in time for Christmas, and the TCU Post Office is at the ready.
“I wouldn’t feel comfortable mailing anything after the 15th,” said Andy Easley, manager of mail services. “You have to account for the increase in volume and possible weather delays.”
Although the United States Postal Service lists the first-class mail deadline as Saturday, Dec. 16, Easley would stick with that Friday. While the major carriers are prepared and not anticipating significant delays, he said, he would err on the side of caution, especially with Dec. 25 falling on a Monday. This means there is no regular mail service after Saturday, Dec. 23.
“The only guaranteed method is Priority Mail Express, and that deadline is Dec. 21,” he said. For international and other USPS deadlines, visit the USPS website.
The TCU Post Office will be open through Dec. 19 and is available to the entire campus
community. Here, Horned Frogs can mail their packages via USPS, with deep FedEx discounts
and with prepaid UPS labels. Workers will weigh packages and quote the best price
available. The post office is pleased to announce they now accept credit cards. 
Customers can also buy stamps, including the new Christmas Snow Globes Forever Stamp.
No matter what carrier you use, Easley offers a tip.
“Be sure to put a piece of paper inside your package with the address you’re shipping to and the return address – just in case the package is damaged,” he said.
The TCU Post Office is located in the Brown-Lupton University Union on the first floor, next to Chick-fil-A. The TCU Post Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Dec. 19. Have a present you need to ship back? They will reopen Jan. 3.
