Impacting students is what TCU faculty and staff do every day, through their time, talents and dedication. For those in a position to give, the Office of Loyalty Giving is asking faculty and staff to consider supporting students during the Faculty/Staff Annual Campaign, which also backs the historic Lead On: A Campaign for TCU in the university’s momentous 150th year.

This year, people and programs – including scholarships – are still a top priority, reflecting the ongoing needs of many students and their families. By designating a gift to TCU Student Scholarships, donors can make an immediate impact on deserving Horned Frogs like Clark Society Scholar Christina Mantsorov, a senior neuroscience major on the pre-med track from Nebraska. She is a first-generation American, and her parents immigrated to the United States from Ukraine.

“The impact from scholarships is that they allow me to get to know the TCU and Fort Worth communities better, connect with professors and not worry about the financial stresses at home and also in Ukraine,” she said.

Mantsorov’s desire for a well-rounded liberal arts education with a community focus brought her to TCU, where she received financial assistance in support of her goals. Because her family is supporting others in Ukraine during the war, this financial support has helped immensely.

In addition to helping keep a TCU education attainable for deserving students like Mantsorov, annual gifts also fund innovative academic programs and initiatives and allow the university to attract and retain outstanding faculty and staff.

A new designation is available for faculty and staff to select when making a gift to TCU. The Beto Cruz Award was created to honor the memory of José Alberto “Beto” Cruz, a facilities employee who died on Jan. 28, 2021, from COVID-19 complications. Initiated last year by the Faculty Senate, the award allows faculty and staff the opportunity to recognize — and express gratitude for — facilities employees, whose dedication and service support our campus. Starting this year, the Beto Cruz Award will be presented annually to a non-exempt TCU facilities employee who exemplifies excellence of service and exceptional commitment to the TCU community.

The Faculty/Staff Annual Campaign runs April 4-28. Gifts can be made or more information can be found online. For questions, call the Office of Loyalty Giving at ext. 7800.
