The Center for International Studies has a new name: TCU Global. The rebranding reflects broader programming for active engagement both domestically and abroad.
TCU Global brings together students, faculty, staff, global partners and local partners to impact and enhance the Horned Frog community. Programs encourage students across all disciplines to develop intercultural competence, face global challenges and apply global learning to their lives.
“Many people think of us primarily for offering Study Abroad. This rebranding helps the TCU community see that we are a more comprehensive resource offering a broader set of opportunities for faculty, staff and students to collaborate with us,” said Sandra Callaghan, Ph.D., director of TCU Global.
TCU Global is responsible for the strategic development of TCU’s internationalization efforts, including:
- Cultivating local and global collaborations to promote international education and research
- Creating innovative global experiences, from semester-long programs to short-term international programs led by faculty and staff
- Increasing access to global experiences for students with diverse backgrounds or limited financial resources
- Delivering faculty and staff development centered on best practices in international education and programs
- Implementing best practices in global risk management
“We believe in actively connecting learning to people, place and purpose to advance transnational understanding and to develop intercultural competence,” Callaghan said.
