As the saying goes: The best is yet to come. While TCU is spending the fall semester building excitement for its 150th anniversary celebration with larger-than-life murals and media-attention-grabbing events, the official celebration kicks off in January 2023. All Horned Frogs are invited to join TCU for the Texas-sized opening week events on campus – and stay connected throughout the year.

Dates and events are still being finalized, but mark your calendars now for the week of Jan. 23-29, 2023 and plan to join! Here’s a sneak peek of just some of what’s ahead for the opening week:

Immersive TCU Experience
A walkthrough of all things TCU inside the BLUU Ballroom will showcase TCU’s past and present through immersive video content, sound and physical artifacts. All Horned Frogs are invited to take part in this experience, which will also be open to the public. tcutoday

Special Fine Arts Performance in the Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU
The College of Fine Arts will host, “A Sesquicentennial Spectrum: The College of Fine Arts Creatively Celebrates the Past, Present, and Future of TCU,” in the Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU. Performances will include music, theatre and dance, as well as highlights from design, art and fashion merchandising. All Horned Frogs will be invited to attend this free, special evening event in TCU’s state-of-the-art Music Center

Light Fort Worth Purple
TCU invites fans, residents and even buildings and sculptures in downtown Fort Worth to “Go Purple” for the week of Jan. 23-29, 2023. If you don’t already have purple holiday lights, now is the time to stock up. Be ready to plug in and get your cameras ready!

TCU Night at the Rodeo
There will be a special TCU night at the city’s iconic Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo with discount tickets and, undoubtedly, a lot of purple.

New Walking Tour
A historical walking tour around campus will launch during the January 2023 opening week, featuring various landmarks across the TCU campus with an audio recording. Signs with QR codes will be placed around campus and Horned Frogs will scan the code and listen to a story or the building or landmark.

Connecting as a Community
Horned Frogs know how to connect as a community and celebrate our achievements – so be on the lookout for additional ways to connect and engage during the 150th kickoff week. From TCU Athletics events to speaker events there will be something for everyone during the kickoff week and throughout the year.
