Following a national recognition of TCU’s campus grounds, The Dallas Morning News featured the award and spoke with a few TCU Facilities employees about what goes into the exceptional maintenance of the campus’ more than 300 acres, as well as the meaning the work holds.
“Those who work here aren’t just coming to work, it’s more personal,” said grounds worker Adalberto Cruz. “We all want to leave our mark on the campus.”
Erik Trevino, director of landscaping and grounds, said he enjoys contributing to the student experience. “It’s a special time in life,” he said, “and keeping those areas beautiful allows us to be part of those memories.”
Andrew Siegel, sports turf manager, said their job goes beyond the TCU campus. “We’re stewards of the environment,” he said.
