Based on several positive trends, effective immediately Texas Christian University is increasing outdoor venue capacity to 50%.
The Chancellor’s Campus Readiness Task Force, which was established in the early stages of the pandemic to guide the University’s health and safety protocols, based the decision on the following factors:
- Tarrant County’s transmission rate decreased from Substantial to Moderate.
- TCU transmission is extremely minimal with very few active cases over the past several weeks, including several days with no new cases.
- An estimated 50% of U.S. adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine and TCU’s community follows that trend.
- Vaccine is plentiful in our area and we continue to host onsite vaccine clinics for the community.
- CDC guidance states that you are less likely to contract or spread COVID-19 at outdoor events.
- Face coverings continue to be required on campus, cleaning protocols will remain place and social distancing is encouraged.
