The Texas Christian University and Baylor Scott & White Health Community Vaccine Site opened Saturday, Feb. 27, successfully administering more than 1,000 COVID-19 vaccines to community residents with an appointment for the drive-thru site.*
Located in the Amon G. Carter Stadium’s expansive parking lots, the site is managed by more than 180 volunteers and staff from TCU, Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth, TCU’s Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences and College of Science & Engineering and the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine.
On average, the entire drive-thru process from appointment verification to observation, took patients less than 30 minutes to complete – all from the comfort and convenience of their car.
“Saturday’s event went extremely well, thanks to our dedicated partners, volunteers, students, faculty and planning staff,” said Kathy Cavins-Tull, TCU vice chancellor for student affairs and event organizer. “TCU is proud to partner with Baylor Scott & White Health and Tarrant County Public Health to administer vaccines to our community and help put an end to the pandemic.”
Officials plan for the TCU/BSWH site to administer 2,500 vaccines a day at full capacity; plans for the weekend of March 6 will be shared in the coming days.
