Gina Alexander, Ph.D., associate professor; Sharon Canclini, assistant professor of professional practice; and Pamela Frable, associate professor, all in Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, joined efforts with the Council of Public Health Nursing Organizations to convey the immediate need for nurses to help vaccinate high-risk populations and mobilize prevention efforts for COVID-19 in an op-ed published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Jan. 20.

"We were mobilized to write this op-ed through our collaboration with national public health nursing leaders who sit on the Council of Public Health Nursing Organizations,” Alexander said. “Public health nursing students from Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences have a long history of safely and efficiently delivering influenza vaccines to students, faculty and staff using a mass vaccination technique.”
