Manny Ramirez (MBA ’18) serves as the president of the 1,700-member Fort Worth Police Officers Association and spearheaded a new program that gives back to the Fort Worth community by purchasing meals from local restaurants to serve to dedicated police officers.
“We began the program March 20 and since then we have purchased over 10,000 meals from local businesses. We order 300-500 meals from individual local restaurants and then set up a drive-through to feed all of our frontline officers on every shift,” he said.
Ramirez recognized that the Tarrant County business community was hurting and has motivated many other North Texas organizations to start similar efforts. “It has been a phenomenal program and I have been so encouraged by how our Tarrant County community has come together,” he said.
