Prospective Students

Main Content

TCU is committed to enrolling students who reflect our world’s rich tapestry. More than a diverse campus environment, our community continually works toward inclusivity, affirming students’ identities and embracing their traditions. We invite you to attend one of our admission programs designed to broaden your understanding of life as a TCU student.

“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community…Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.” – Cesar Chavez

Scholarship Opportunities

Students who graduate from public and charter high schools in Buffalo (NY), Syracuse (NY), and Guilford County (NC) and whose families earn annual income at or below $75,000 are awarded full-tuition financial aid if admitted to TCU.

TCU is committed to enrolling talented musicians from diverse backgrounds by offering a $3,000 per year scholarship to participate in the Horned Frog Marching Band. This award is in addition to any academic scholarship a student might have received.

For a generation, the Community Scholars Program has recruited top candidates from under-resourced public high schools in the Fort Worth-Dallas community and offers more than $6 million in full-ride scholarships—including housing—each year. Community Scholars live on campus and are supported by a mentoring and leadership program. This life-changing scholarship has been a win-win for the students, their families and TCU. Community Scholars have gone on to impressive graduate schools and careers.

The STEM Scholars program is an academic support and enrichment program that includes a full cost-of-attendance scholarship and is designed to recruit and retain the best and brightest students in STEM fields.

Opportunities for Veterans

Yellow Ribbon

TCU is a proud member of the Yellow Ribbon program which provides access to private higher education for veterans. Eligible Post 9-11 GI Bill student veterans can receive 100% tuition coverage for TCU. The University offers a monthly Veteran Transfer Visit program on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m throughout the year.

Opportunities for Transfer Students

TCU/TCC Articulation Agreement

As part of our ongoing commitment to student access and success, representatives from TCU visit Tarrant County College campuses to provide assistance and distribute information regarding TCU’s baccalaureate degrees and our articulation agreement.

This articulation agreement between TCU and TCC was created to provide degree completion information including the Tarrant County College equivalency guide, pre-requisites for majors, transfer admission requirements, and financial aid and scholarship information. We also connect TCC students with TCU contacts for questions about transfer articulation, academic programs and support services.

Admissions Events

This program, offered through TCU Admissions, allows prospective students of color to learn more about TCU’s multicultural efforts. Students and parents meet our diverse faculty and staff, hear from experts about the admission process, and discuss academic and co-curricular life with current TCU students of color.

Application Policies

Holistic Review of Applications
In evaluating applications for admission, TCU considers the full range of students’ talents, experiences, and abilities. Rather than rely solely on data points, we seek to understand students in as many of their 360 degrees as they are willing to share with us. This means that we read every essay, letter of recommendation and supplemental document through a careful lens and with an understanding that not every student comes to the application process with equal opportunities.

Self-Reported Test Scores
Applicants for first-year admission are required to submit the results of either the ACT or SAT. For the purpose of admission review, students may self-report scores on the application for admission or by submitting a screenshot of the scores electronically to frogmail@tcu.edu. Only students who intend to enroll are required to submit official score reports from the test agency.

For more information on any of the programs, please contact the Office of Admission at 817-257-7490 or frogmail@tcu.edu.
