COVID-19 Communications

Thank you for all of your work implementing our educational mission at Texas Christian University. Admittedly, this has been a challenging time for us to navigate as a community. While we have enjoyed many of the “normal” trappings of welcoming a new semester with joyous move-in days and an Opening Celebration, I acknowledge the anticipated challenges and changed experience, given the many precautions and responsive strategies that must be taken during this unprecedented pandemic.

The six months of this pandemic have challenged us to rise to the occasion of creating community, despite physical separation and isolation. Many of us are back together again on the beautiful Texas Christian University campus where we can join in campus life and enjoy being together – for an in-person learning experience.

We near the close of our second week of the fall semester at Texas Christian University, and it’s been heartening to see so many new and familiar faces. Or at least part of your faces, under your face covering. When I walk the campus and visit classrooms, I see encouraging examples of Protecting the Purple. Thank you to those who are consistently making our spaces and interactions safer. Your efforts are noticed and appreciated.

Congratulations on a successful first week of class! Pardon this Sunday email. I want to share information in response to questions posed about students who are self-isolating or quarantining. This information outlines our Student Affairs and Infectious Disease Response Team’s process for informing faculty members of a student who has reported a positive COVID-19 test.
