Chancellor Boschini announced changes today to the university’s fall 2020 semester calendar to help protect the health and safety of the campus community. The semester will begin Aug. 17, a week earlier than originally planned, and end the on-campus portion of the semester Nov. 24. The final deadline for grade submissions, graduate student defenses and other project work will be Dec. 10.

We are so eager to have you back that I’m announcing today that we will start a week earlier on August 17. And we will end the on-campus portion of the semester before Thanksgiving on November 24. December 10 is the final deadline for grade submissions, graduate student defenses and other project work. We will end classes, final exams and other on-campus activities by November 24, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

This week, Texas Christian University welcomed a small group of Phase I employees back to campus, joining those who have been working onsite, serving students and planning for the phased return to campus. We are pleased to safely widen our circle and continue planning for Phases II and III.

Thank you. So much is happening in this most unique summer! I am heartened by the tremendous activity ongoing as we prepare for a residential experience this fall. Here are important updates for this week.

TCU has shared Phase I initial guidance for employees returning to campus beginning May 26. The initial information has been prepared under the careful guidance of the Chancellor’s Fall 2020 Campus Readiness Task Force.
